You've really been busy here the last year... impressive repertoire and set of collaborations so far! Here's hoping 2023 is all we wish it'll be; the great creative streak keeps going.

Say, can you sing? I'm looking for someone to maybe chime in on a few choruses/notes on a title track, can't really reach 'em myself...

I appreciate that! Thank you :)

As for singing, I certainly wouldn't consider myself a singer. When I do, I have a lot of help from the computer to keep me in tune haha!

Ah if all else fails maybe I'll finally try some autotune too. XD

Do you maybe happen to know any good singers here who'd be up for something otherwise? For some reason never really gathered that kind of contacts.

Autotune is a wonderful tool for that reason, haha! Great in a pinch!

I don't have any singer contacts either unfortunately. Usually when I have other singers in my music, it's just my buddies! Most of them aren't singers either. I do know though, that in the Audio Portal Anniversary collab, there are a lot of singers involved, and in their Discord it seemed like there were plenty looking for others to work with! I wonder if they'd be open to something outside of the collab too?

So it seems. :) Been avoiding it a bit on principle, like this AI thing in regard to visual art, like at what point are we no longer human; our craft's no longer our own; no longer real... but I can't deny it sounds good. XD

Ey that's a good place to start searching, thanks for that!

It's all about how you use it! I try to get artsy with it. If a vocaloid is a valid instrument, then autotune is too! No shame in it if you ask me :)

Ah though I feel similarly about vocaloid, I'm fascinated by the concept, and pleased with the audial aesthetic, but wonder about the human factor! It's all good though, I don't mind others using either, just have a certain pride myself in being able to do without. :) It's like hearing things that are recorded in one take. To me that amplifies the respect I feel for the creator; makes it feel like a real performance in a way. An accomplishment beyond a product. The result of truly honing their craft until they're capable of doing it for real.

It's a silly distinction really considering how you don't really know if anything's one-take or no, or with or without filter, if it's done well. But props to everyone who does it that way anyway! I suppose essentially it's a respect for the extra effort it takes to do things a way that's more difficult than it needs to be...
