UPDATE!!! WHAT'S GOING ON?????

ME:

Yesterday was my birthday and now I'm back on the ol' grind. My main focuses recently have been getting into a long-form groove, bringing shorts back more frequently (on YouTube), and figuring out how to pay rent without being annoying. I recently published my video about Eye Contact, which a lot of you have left some very kind comments on which I appreciate tons! Unfortunately, that video turned out to be very unsustainable since I laser-focused on it for a month and it didn't really end up getting seen (on YouTube). I hate that money has to be a factor in the things I do, but alas, I guess it's a job too. Recently my short collab with raxd and rance blew up and I was reminded that short-form content can still indeed help pay the bills. So I'm trying to find a balance where I can make at least 1-2 shorts per week, and focus on long form videos in the background.

Since going full time, YouTube has become such a stressful balancing act and has shoved me face to face with my discomfort about marketing. I didn't realize it, but without sponsorships or merchandise, you just can't live off YouTube unless you are insanely lucky. I decided to open up my channel memberships, and have been sheepishly pushing my Gamersupps (Code 'Glass' at checkout), and my Inchworm merch with CreatorInk. I gotta swallow my pride and OWN it. BUY MY MERCH!!!!!!! AAAAHHH!!!!!

On the subject of merch, the Inchworm goodies will not be around much longer, as around the turn of the season I plan to put together some more long-term designs and products featuring our beloved Champa and Tank. I'm definitely looking forward to that, and I hope you are too!!

Anywho, I'll wrap this up. I'm working hard and I hope you are all enjoying the videos. Doing this is a dream, so despite the struggles, I still love doing what I do and I appreciate all of you for being here! Also, a massive thanks to everyone who is supporting me on Patreon. HELLO NEWGROUNDS!!! I've got lots to share! Haven't done an update in a while so I figured I'd share what's going on with me.

FIRST! I really appreciate all the kind words and great reception on my latest project, "Inchworm"! I dumped a whole lot of time into that and worked with a billion extra talented animators to make it happen, and I think Newgrounds probably showed it the most love! (per capita lol) Thank you!!

Sooooo....

What have I been up to?

I took a very small break after completing that project to go outside, see family, have a life again, but also to hermit down and work more on my website "Drawmegle". It's a fun little site where artists are randomly paired up to draw together! It's pretty dead right now, but I'm still adding to it. Just added pen pressure and a bunch of little stuff! I think I've finally got that out of my system and I'm ready to get back to animation!

What is next?

In the background, I've been cooking up a script and plan for my next video! My goal after this is to upload one video each week (or every other week)! It's a very tough goal and I have no idea if I'll be able to manage it but I will surely try! I've got lots of stuff I wanna share and talk about! But also I've gotta pay the bills :,) I put a lot of eggs in the Inchworm basket, and upon a very thin YouTube turnout, it's become clear that long projects aren't sustainable for me. Someday I would like every new video to top the last, but I'm just not in a position where I can spend months on every video AND pay rent. So weekly videos is the next goal and I hope you stay tuned!

Conclusion

I could dive deeper into music, games, and Flipnote projects, but I think I'll keep it here and just get back to workin'! I appreciate all of you guys, and I double appreciate those of you who are helping to support me on Patreon! You help me with the groceries every month and that's a pretty big deal haha! It really means a lot.

I'm so happy to have had the opportunity to bring Champa and Tank to life and share them with the world! Thank you to everyone who snagged one. It means a lot to me that there are folks out there who enjoy the show enough to invite these critters into their homes and eat all their glassware, drywall and insulation.

This YouTooz plush will not likely ever be available again, but I do have fun plans for the future! So if you missed out on this drop, don't worry! I want to work on super unique and fun stuff in the future and I promise it'll never ever be lazy. I care about everything I put out whether it be videos, music, or products!!

Hey guys REAL TALK!!!

I'm not big on selling people things, and have been hesitant to sell merch at all in the past. I don't love the thought of making a bunch of things to sell and make a bunch of money, because I think it's often quite transparent. There are a lot of creators out there who sell merch that they don't own themselves. Like, if you don't want to buy it, why would you sell it?? To me it says a lot about what you think about your audience and your product. The moment I started to grow online, companies pounced toward my inbox with offers to start merch shops, make plushies, monetize monetize monetize. Admittedly the thought was quite exciting at the time, but I still turned them all down.

When I did start selling shirts for a month, it was on my own terms. But when the company I was working with dropped the ball with shipping orders on time, I decided to stop there. The quality of the products were fine, but not amazing. They didn't send me my product samples until after the products went live which was absurd. I felt pretty bad about selling the stuff, especially because I hadn't even gotten to see it for myself at that point.

So now I am dedicated to only selling things that:

1. I would want for myself

2. I have tested and end up loving

3. Is objectively high quality and made with care and passion

4. I am proud of it

So that brings me to YouTooz. Of all the companies that have reached out to me, YouTooz seems to be the most dedicated to creating an incredibly high-quality product over anything else. I worked closely with them through the design and prototyping phase, tweaking and revising many times until landing on something I really liked. They were super patient with me and worked hard to stay true to my design! I was honestly floored with the quality of the plush when I got to see it in person. It's packed tight, sturdily stitched, capable, and super clean all around! You can even lift his shirt/sleeves as if he were truly wearing a sweater, which I was very pleasantly surprised by! When comparing their products to other companies doing the same thing, I decided they were the best by quite a large margin!

All this being said, I really hope you enjoy this plush as much as I do!! Champa and Tank hang out with me all the time, and I'm sure they're looking forward to joining you on your adventures! You guys rock!

This is going to be the description for my announcement video, but I wanna do a blog post version too just to have it.

TLDR; this is an ad for my Patreon!

Starting this up is a pretty big deal, since I've been creating stuff online for a long time. I was able to go full-time around 2021 or so when I started doing pretty well with music commissions, and then I had a lucky surprise pivot to YouTube animation. The biggest reason I've not had to make a Patreon up until now is because I've been able to live with my parents. Thanks parents!!!! I am moving out now however, and the blunt force of adulthood's rent and bills and stuff is all about to hit me hard. I wanted to put off making a Patreon as long as possible, since ultimately I'd like just about everything I make to be in the public domain, but alas.

The good news is that I'm going to continue making free music for everyone to enjoy and use however they like, and that's never going to change. What is new is that I am now going to be offering stuff that I wouldn't have before for my Patrons to enjoy. This stuff includes extra video content, early release videos and games, assets from games, stuff like that. This way, nothing changes for the average enjoyer, but those with the means to support my work can enjoy some extra goodies too!

Anywho, I appreciate you all and I am looking forward to continue creating fun music, animation and games for you! If you're able to throw a couple bones my way, it would mean the world to me and keep the train rolling full-speed-ahead!

Hello hello!

So I just released my new game "Goober Game"! I've been working hard on it for the last couple months and finally dropped it just recently! For me, this was a huge deal, since I haven't finished a game in almost 10 years. I have started many many projects in between though! After a very long time itchin' to get a game up here on Newgrounds, it finally happened! And boy, was I blown away by the positive reception!!

I never thought I'd get Frontpaged or snag the daily feature with a game, let alone one of my first finished games ever! I really appreciate everyone who's played it so far and for all the kind words and feedback. This was a super exciting launch for me!

Hello folks! To both my followers or anyone who may have just stumbled upon this post, I have some news!~

I have returned from my New Years break and I am back in full swing with a wealth of inspiration, motivation, new ideas, plans and goals! What this means for you is that I'm gonna have a lot of fun things to share in the near, near future.

Short term and coming soon, I have a new game in the pipeline! I am hoping to have it up and running here on Newgrounds this month (sooner rather than later!!). This also means new music, as I will be composing all the tunes and SFX for this project. If you'd like to learn more, you can stay up to date with EVERYTHING on my new Discord server!

Drawmegle, which some may know about, is also going to be receiving updates again soon. Again, the news is on the Discord server!

Long term, I am going to be animating again soon. I will be sharing the videos on Newgrounds and YouTube, so stay on the lookout!
